(Allium ampeloprasum) Originating from Russia & also known as 'Elephant Garlic'. Tall plant to 1.2m producing large, creamy white bulbs with 3-5 cloves each. Flavour is milder than regular garlic & is ideal for roasting & other cooked dishes producing a sweet, nutty flavour. Easy to peel.
Grown & harvested on a certified organic farm (in conversion). All garlic is grown without the use of chemicals. Crop rotations, green manures, composts, lime, dolomite, kelp and fish foliar sprays are used to improve and maintain plant and soil health. Weed control relies on mulching and hand weeding.
