(Physalis ixocarpa)  Mexican heirloom dating back to the Ancient Aztecs.  Perennial / Annual (cooler areas).  Large, golden fruit 3-5cm inside tan, papery husk.  Excellent flavour with hints of lemon and crisp flesh.  Will produce fruit right up until first frost.  Requires staking for support.  Ready to harvest for making salsas when papery husks split open, or leave to mature for a delicious snack when fruit becomes slightly yellow; fruit will continue to ripen after husks split.  75 days.  80 seeds.
