(Lycopersicon esculentum) Italian heirloom from the Abruzzo coast region in the east of Italy. Also known as 'Pera d’Abruzzo' (meaning 'Abruzzo Pear'). The fruit is the perfect shape to fit in the palm of the hand with indentations for fingers hence the name 'Granny's Throwing'. Deep red, pear shaped, heavily fluted fruit with rich tomato flavour. Excellent for making pastes and sauces due to its fleshy pulp with few seeds and its sweet, fruity taste and low acidity. Also delicious eaten raw and in salads. High yields. 70 days. 40 seeds
