***NOT TO WA*** (Crocus sativus) Perennial. Saffron comes from the dried stigma of the flower and is a small bulb with plant reaching 30-50cm high, with violet blue flowers during Autumn. Frost tolerant. The flower stigma (saffron) is harvested as soon as the crocus blooms, then dried in the sun & stored immediately.  Each flower has three stigma. Saffron is one of the world’s most expensive spices.
