SCARLET RUNNER

(Phaseolus coccineus)    First introduced in 1600’s.  Perennial bean - in cooler areas dying back over winter then reshooting in spring from the rootstock.  Vigorous vine with deep red flowers producing long, thin, flat beans.  Prolific bearing.  Best when picked young.  Attractive in the garden.  70-90 days.  25 seeds
