(Aquilegia vulgaris)  European heirloom, also known as 'Columbine' or 'Granny's Bonnet' and belongs to the Buttercup family.  A clump forming herbaceous perennial to 80cm high with blue / green, fern-like foliage and a mix of bell shaped, pendulous flowers in pinks, purples and blues during spring and summer.  Both double and single flowers included.  Plants are adaptable and quite hardy.  Will grow well in a cool-winter climate and performs best in partial shade to full sun.  Will become dormant over winter only to reshoot in spring.  Easy to grow.  Ideal for cut flowers and container growing.  Will readily attract birds, butterflies and bees to the garden due to its flowers being high in nectar.  200 days.  250 seeds
