(Tropaeolum tuberosum)  South American heirloom related to Nasturtium.  Perennial.  Climbing vine with edible leaves, flowers and tubers.  Tubers taste very hot but lose heat upon cooking, soften dramatically, and then have a peculiar aroma reminiscent of roses.  Best grown in light shade or dappled sun.
