DRIED KELP GRANULES (1kg)

Made from Australian bull kelp (Durvillaea potatorum) collected from the North West Coast of Tasmania.  It grows in some of the cleanest seawater in the world and is naturally low in heavy metals.  The kelp is sustainable harvested under license, from the beach, where it is naturally washed up following storms.  The kelp is then washed, dried and milled with no further processing or additives.  

Kelp meal is a dried, milled seaweed used as a slow-release soil amendment.  It enriches soil with over 60 trace minerals, beneficial amino acids, and natural growth hormones (like auxins and cytokinins) that stimulate robust root development, improve nutrient uptake, and help plants resist environmental stress.

Uses

• Root Development: The natural hormones in kelp meal (cytokinins and auxins) encourage the rapid, healthy growth of root systems, which results in stronger plants.

• Stress Resistance: Regular application helps plants withstand extreme temperatures, drought, and transplant shock. 

• Microbial Activation: The complex carbohydrates (like alginic acid) act as a food source for beneficial soil microbes, improving overall soil health and structure.
  
• Trace Micronutrients: While it is a low-nutrient fertilizer compared to meals like blood or bone meal, it provides essential trace elements such as iron, magnesium, and manganese. 

Application

• Soil Mixing: Work it directly into your garden soil, raised beds, or potting mix before planting. It takes a few weeks for microorganisms to break it down, making it an excellent long-term nutrient source. 

• Top Dressing: Sprinkle a light layer around the base of established plants or along your garden rows, scratch it into the top inch of soil, and water thoroughly. 

• Compost Accelerator: Because of its high alginic acid and low cellulose content, it decomposes rapidly and acts as a fantastic addition to speed up your compost pile.
