REACTIVE ROCK PHOSPHATE (1kg)

Reactive Rock Phosphate (RRP) is a natural, phosphorus fertilizer used in agriculture. It is applied directly to crops and pastures to improve soil fertility and consistently deliver nutrients without the high water solubility or leaching risks of synthetic alternatives.

How it Works

Unlike conventional superphosphate, which is chemically treated with acid, RRP relies on the natural acids produced in soil and by plant roots to break down its fine particles. This gradual decomposition makes phosphorus available to plants.

Primary Uses & Benefits

• Direct Application: RRP can be spread directly onto gardens and around plants. 

• No Leaching or Lock-up: Because it is not highly water-soluble, it doesn't easily wash away in heavy rain or chemically lock up in the soil as quickly as synthetic alternatives.  
   
• Soil Health: It typically provides a balanced mix of nutrients, often containing valuable calcium and sometimes trace elements like sulfur or silica, depending on the source.

Best Conditions for Use

RRP is most effective in environments with acidic soil and high rainfall. The acid in the soil helps the rock dissolve much faster, allowing plants to absorb the nutrients more efficiently. 

Apply up to 0.5kg/10 square metres prior to working the soil.
