LIQUID FISH (1L)

A high-quality, pure fish meat hydrolysate made in Tasmania and certified organic.  It is cold-processed, which preserves more amino acids, natural oils, and enzymes. During the process, raw whole fish is broken down for a higher concentration of nutrients.  It acts as a superb soil conditioner, and typically smells less.

Liquid fish is a fast-acting, organic liquid fertilizer made from fishing industry by-products like scales, bones, and whole fish. It provides a quick nitrogen boost and essential trace minerals to heavy-feeding vegetables, fruit trees, and ornamentals while stimulating beneficial soil microbes. 

How it Works

Liquid fish fertilizers are rich in macronutrients, typically boasting an N-P-K (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) ratio of around 4-1-1 or 5-1-1. Because it is a water-soluble liquid, plants absorb it almost instantly compared to slow-release granular or solid organic matter. 

Common Applications

• Root Watering: Dilute the concentrated liquid with water (commonly mixed at about 6 tablespoons per litre of water). Use it to water in new seeds, establishing seedlings, or to give struggling plants a mid-season boost.

• Foliar Feeding: Liquid fish can be used as a foliar spray to feed plants directly through their leaves, offering a rapid nutrient uptake.

• Compost Accelerator: Because it is packed with amino acids and nutrients, it serves as an excellent nitrogen-rich activator for your compost pile or worm farm. 

Best Practices & Tips

• Dilute Heavily: Liquid fish is potent; over-application can burn plant roots or leaves. Always follow dilution rates.

• Avoid Direct Sunlight: When applying as a foliar spray, do it early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid leaf burn.

• Pet Warning: Pets (especially dogs) are naturally drawn to the smell of fish fertilizers. If you apply it heavily to the soil, keep pets away from those areas.
