LUPIN (blue flower)

(Lupinus angustifolius) Blue flowering lupin is useful as a green manure crop where plants are grown and then slashed and dug back into the soil to improve its fertility and structure.  The plant is great for adding nitrogen back into the soil, plus organic matter, thereby improving soil structure, and can also help in suppressing weeds. The deep roots of the blue flowering lupin helps to break up compacted soil, improving drainage, and increasing water infiltration. May also be used in reducing the risk of soil erosion, especially on sloping land due to its extensive root system which helps to bind the soil together.

Note:  To be used as a green manure or field crop only (not for eating).
