(Phaseolus vulgaris)  Popularly known as 'The Caviar of Beans'.  French heirloom originating in the 1800's & considered a delicacy in Europe.  Small, light green inner beans packed with flavour and used shelled like peas.  8-10 seeds per pod. Note:  Pods are inedible with only the beans inside suitable for use.  Harvest inner beans fresh for use like pea or broad bean, or leave to mature and use as a dried legume in soups, stews, patties etc.  Dried beans cook to a dense and creamy texture which resist falling apart when cooked.  If using mature beans, when drying, leave to dry in the pod after picking, then shell when pod is dry.  56-80 days.  90 seeds
