(Chenopodium quinoa)  Heirloom from South America.  A grain similar to white quinoa except it is crunchier and nuttier and holds its shape more after cooking - ideal for salads.  The seeds are high in protein.  Best grown in areas where max. day time temperature does not exceed 32’C & night temperatures are cool (note:  seeds may not germinate when planted in soil with night-time temps. above 15’C). Easy to grow with plants tolerating dry soil & drought conditions.
