(Lycopersicon esculentum)  Russian variety named after the first artificial satellite that was launched into space by the USSR in 1957.  First offered in the Seed Savers 1996 Yearbook by Arche Noah, a genetic preservation organisation in Austria who obtained the seeds from Elmar Dolgener.  Medium sized, chocolate brown, beefsteak type fruit with a wrinkled base to 7.5cm across with old-fashioned tomato flavour.  80-90 days.  50 seeds
