(Eragrostis tef)  Ancient grain commonly grown in Africa, Ethiopia & Eritrea where it is used to make 'Injera' and also as the main ingredient for preparing 'Tella', a traditional beer.  The smallest known grain in the world.   A cereal type grass producing a tiny grain with mild, nutty flavour which is high in calcium, protein & fibre.  May be used in cooking (similar to quinoa), breads, porridges, and grain-free fermented beverages.  After harvest, its straw may be mixed with mud for making bricks.  Plant is frost sensitive.  Small seed.  Easily grown & germinates quickly.  45-55 days.  10,000 seeds
