(Allium cepa)  Spanish heirloom first discovered in one of the gardens of Amposta.  Also known as 'Red Amposta', 'Bronze D'Amposta' and 'Morada de Amposta'.  Medium sized red / purple skinned bulbs with dense, purple / white flesh.  Mild, sweet flavour.  Great for use raw in salads due to its mild flavour or cooked.  Intermediate day variety requiring 12-24 hours of daylight to form bulbs.  Stores well.  80-85 days.  180 seeds
