(Avena nuda)  Ancient grain dating back hundreds of years.  A nutritious, high-protein cereal grain that naturally sheds its husk during harvesting, eliminating the need for industrial dehusking. These oats are ideal for home cultivation, often grown for organic food production.

To process, wait until the inner kernel becomes hard.  Harvest and then thresh ie. beat to release the grain and then winnow to remove chaff.

May be cooked warm for oatmeal, breakfast porridge, milling into flour, or sprouting.
